Jameelah is passionate about working with communities to help empower community members and create safer and sustainable neighborhoods. Most recently, Jameelah served as the administrative coordinator for The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Metro Suburban. Prior to NAMI, Jameelah worked at Byline Bank and as a direct service provider at Little City Foundation. As a first generation college student, Jameelah has proudly obtained both a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in Nonprofit Management from DePaul University. She is a founding associate board member of Literacy Works and has been developing plans to create a community tech center in her childhood neighborhood of Lawndale.
